ANTONISHYN - Catherine Antonishyn, widow of Walter Antonishyn passed away on April 9th 2019 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina. She was 97 years of age. Catherine Antonishyn was born January 1, 1922 to Sophie (nee Hrycewicz) and Michael Krywulak. Sophie passed away in July of 1922, Michael remarried to Eva Krywulak. Catherine had six sisters: Mary, Rose, Olga, Carol, Ann and Nettie; and five brothers: Steve, Walter, Stanley, and surviving brothers Russell and Leo. Catherine started her work career at the orphanage, than took jobs as nanny for farm families in the Lebret area. In 1944 she worked in a restaurant in Winnipeg. Catherine moved to Larder Lake Ontario when her sister Mary contacted her that she needed help with her family, where Catherine found work again. In 1946 she left Ontario to return home with her dad, Stanley, Mary and Sam's family. Shortly after returning home she met Walter at a wedding dance. They married September 1, 1946. The first year of their marriage they lived with Baba and Gedo Antonishyn and ran the store. In 1947 they purchased the neighbouring farm to Baba and Gedo Antonishyn and started farming. They sold several different products produced on the farm such as cream, eggs, turkeys, cattle and grain. There they raised their family. In 1991 they retired to Ituna there she resided till 2017 when she moved to Regina, to a private care home where she continued to help make perogies and cabbage rolls. Predeceased by her husband Walter in 2013; her parents, Sophie & Michael and step-mother Eva Krywulak; sisters Mary, Rose, Olga, Ann, Carol & Nettie; brothers Steve, Walter & Stanley. She will be sadly missed by her children: Frances (Mervin) Krett, Leonard (Marie) Antonishyn, Linda Bordass and Bernadette (Les) Caragata; nine grandchildren: Kim (Tanya), Kevin (Jennifer), Stanley (Celina), Corinne (Scott), Jennifer (Dan), Amanda (Mike), Neil, Chelse (Jordan) & Tyler; eleven great grandchildren & three great great grandchildren. Also brothers Leo & Russel. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, April 15th 2019 from St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Ituna, with Fr. Albert Schmitz as Celebrant. The Crossbearer was Amanda Bordass, the Lectors were Kim Krett & Kevin Krett, prayers of the faithful were recited by Stanley Antonishyn. The eulogists were Chelse & Tyler Caragata & Jennifer Huckerby. Organist, Paulette van der Helm led the parish choir and congregation in the singing of the hymns 'Be Not Afraid', 'God, Whose Farm is Creation', 'Seeds, Scattered & Sown', 'May Flights of Angles', and 'How Great Thou Art'. The interment took place in the St. Stanislaus RC Cemetery with Corinne Elash, Jennifer Huckerby, Neil Bordass, Kim Krett, Kevin Krett, Chelse Caragata, Tyler Caragata and Stanley Antonishyn serving as the casketbearers
