Cecily Nielsen of Morris Lodge in Bangor, formerly of Melville, Waldron and Dubuc, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital, Melville surrounded by family on September 30, 2011 at the age of 89 years.Cecily (known to many as Cis) was born in the Waldron district March 7, 1922 to Cyril and Harriet (nee Garfield) Joyce. Cis attended Audley School. On Valentine's Day 1944 Cis married Chris Nielsen of Dubuc who farmed the George Fraser farm. They were blessed with three children, Peter, Louise and Dianne. In 1972 they semi-retired to Waldron where in winter they enjoyed feeding the deer and watching the wild life. In 1983 they retired to Melville where Cis lived until 2010. Because of some health issues, Cis moved to Morris Lodge in Bangor where she resided until her passing. Cis was very active with the Dubuc Homemakers, the St. Peter's WA, the Waldron Ladies Community Circle and More the Merrier Senior Citizens Club in Waldron. Cis was an active member of All Saints' Anglican Church in Melville until her health failed her. Cis enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, farm life, bringing in the harvest, feeding the deer in winter, young calves in the spring, 4-H work, driving girls around to dances, because she loved dancing and her ladies clubs. Cis was very artistic and enjoyed cross-stitch, crocheting, painting. and in later years puzzle making.Cis was predeceased by her parents; her husband Chris in 1993 and her sister, Lillian Mary Ellwood in 2001. Cis will be missed by son, Peter (Audrey) Nielsen of Dubuc and their family: Murray Nielsen of North Battleford and daughters, Kassidy, Ellyssa and Tarra; Tanis (Dave) Edwards of Nanaimo, BC, their daughter Denae and son Dell; Trevor Nielsen of Innisfail, AB and sons, Blake and Kyle; daughter, Louise (Bob) Hershmiller of Waldron and their family, Connie (Michael) Suwala of Melville and their children, Jasmine and Victoria; Charlene Hershmiller and son Alex Petracek of Esterhazy, Dean (Jodi) Hershmiller of Dalmeny and daughters, Lexi and Claire; Marla (Mike) Heinzig of Calgary; Aron (Amber) Hershmiller of Yorkton and their daughter Peyton; daughter, Dianne Laughrane of Burnaby, BC and family: daughter Michelle, twin sons, Derrell and Devon, and daughters, Nylah and Zariah; Cis also leaves three nieces, Benta (Bill) Jones of Melville, Linda (John) Yuzik of Saskatoon, Sherry (Jack) Ludwar of Waldron and numerous great nieces and great nephews.The family would like to thank the staff at Morris Lodge, Dr. Eshawesh, Dr.Van Zyl and the nurses at St. Peter's Hospital for the wonderful care given their mother.
