Obituary for Alfred Alexander Gerow

GEROW " Alfred Alexander
April 13, 1917 " October 29, 2008

Beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away quietly with family and friends at the age of 91 at the Victoria Hospital. He was born on April 13, 1917 in Rossport, Ontario. Dad came to Prince Albert in 1967 to start up the pulp mill and worked there until his retirement. Dad enjoyed every aspect of living at Emma Lake where he and mom lived, year round, for many years. When mom and dad moved to town in 1993 dad joined the Senior Men’s Curling league. Dad enjoyed curling and the many friends he made along the way. Dad was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph Parish, as well as the Royal Canadian Legion. Alfred was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Frances (McKee). He is survived by his sons Tom (Diane), Don (Colleen), Rick (Gail), Barry (Thérèse) and Kevin (Bonnie); his grandchildren Robin (Marcia), Kristin (Stewart), Geoff, Sarah, Daniel, Tanya, Shawn, Dustin, Andrew, Jennifer, Nicole, Amanda (Cole), and Jaquelyn and his great grandchildren Monica, Parker, Ryder, Bradley, Lauren, Kaleb, Brooke, Madison, Seth, Camryn, Willow, Ivy, and Lincoln. We would like to thank the fifth floor nursing staff at the Victoria Hospital, Grey Cab and their staff for their exceptional treatment of dad. We would also like to thank Michelle from Hillside Care Home for her special care, attention, and extra patience with dad. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to a Charity of Donor’s Choice.
