Obituary for Allan Edward Nugent

NUGENT - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Allan E. Nugent (Nig) on May 04, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Allan was 59 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife Jolene, their son Blair, his brother Denis (Sybil) Nugent and his sister Elaine (Paul) Pelletier, both of Regina. Allan spent his younger years growing up in the small town of Plunkett, Sask. The Nugent family then moved to Regina where Allan attended school and began to nurture his love of motorcycles. In 1970, Allan married Jolene Vogt and they were blessed with the birth of their son Blair in 1973. Allan and his brother-in-law, David, both relocated their families to Prince Albert in 1971 to open their new business. They started A & D Cycle, which became a very successful motorcycle and snowmobile business. After 11 years in the motorcycle business Allan sold his share of the business to David and then accepted employment at the P.A. Foundry, later working at Houle’s Rentals. Allan’s last position before retirement was as the Manager of RSC Rentals where he enjoyed working with the public. Allan was a great carpenter and renovator. He and Jolene, and often times Blair, spent countless hours remodeling homes they had purchased, for themselves and as rental properties. Allan was known for his meticulous workmanship and his ability to take on and conquer any renovation challenge. His loves were motorcycles, classic cars, 50’s tunes, watching Westerns and traveling, at home and abroad. Most recently he and Jolene made good use of their motor home by taking camping trips to the mountains with their loving little companion, Button. One of Allan and Jolene’s most enjoyable moments was even taking Button on the motorcycle with them. Allan was a nature lover, a history buff and he had a deep appreciation and love for all animals. He was also known for having a sweet tooth that would not take “no” for an answer. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. In honor of Allan’s wishes, there will be no funeral service held. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Drew Gray, Funeral Director.
