Obituary for Audrey Catherine Noe

NOE â€" Audrey, it is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Noe in Mont St. Joseph’s home on April 2, 2007 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Audrey passed away peacefully with loved ones at her side. Audrey was born on the family farm at Star City on October 28, 1923, the only child of Leo and Catherine Murphy. Despite the three-mile walk into school, there were many years when she never missed a day nor was late. Upon completion of grade twelve, Audrey went to Winnipeg to take nurse’s training. Although she did not complete it, she used those skills at the bedside of the sick for many years. In 1945 Audrey married Bob Paul. They were blessed with two daughters, Shauneen and Leslie, and shared many happy years together. When Bob became ill, Audrey went to work to support the family. She worked at Carment’s Jewellers for 17 years, during which time she missed only one third of a day of work. Bob passed away in 1974. Eventually Audrey married Ervine Noe. They enjoyed their time together, often vacationing for the winter in Arizona. After several years, Ervine became ill and he later passed away. Audrey loved giving to others, whether it be her family, her friends, or through her more than thirty years of dedicated volunteer work at Mont St. Joseph’s and elsewhere. She enjoyed reading, needlepoint, painting, gardening, walking, knitting, singing and entertaining. Audrey had a strong commitment to family and friends. Her unwavering faith saw her through many trying times. Audrey was a member of Nisbet Memorial United Church from its very beginning until it closed 40 years later, at which time she joined Wesley United Church. She also was a lifetime member of the Golden Links Rebekah Lodge and a member of Cancermount. Audrey was predeceased by her parents Catherine and Leo Murphy, her husband Robert Paul and her second husband Ervine Noe. Audrey will be sadly missed and always remembered with love by daughters Shauneen O’Shaughnessy and Leslie Paul; grandchildren Jeff Ruszkowski, Jennifer Ruszkowski and Tess O’Shaughnessy; niece Linda Paul; family members Larry, Annette and Holly Ruszkowski; beloved friends Iris Meissner and Laura Carment, as well as numerous other dear, faithful friends. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Mont St. Joseph Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Wesley United Church. Interment will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
