SCHUTTE â€" EDDY On Monday, April 13, 2009 Eddy softly passed sur¬rounded by his family. Eddy fought a courageous battle against cancer, triumphing for six years. Eddy was born in Prince Albert on August 13, 1948 to Cyril and Pheabe Schutte (nee Fisher) of Parkside, SK. The family then moved to Briarlea in 1962. On October 24, 1970 Eddy married the love of his life Marlene Young, making their home together in Briarlea. Eddy and Marlene were blessed with two children, Debbie and Tammy. “Fast Eddy” spent most of his working life teaching people how to work. The staff of Burns, Par and Pine Industries often spoke of his ability to complete a week’s work in one day. Ed’s work ethic was unrivaled. He often worked three jobs at once to provide not only what his family needed but also everything he wanted for them. An avid outdoorsman, Eddy loved to hunt. Spending his summers at Waskesiu and fishing on Kingsmere Lake. A farmer at heart he raised many animals, pigs, chickens and cattle and harvested many a crop. A competitive gardener, Eddy took pride in having the first corn, the first new potato and the first rose to share. His Tumbler tomatoes were abundant, everyone liked them even the deer. Eddy was a kind, generous, gentle man with an endearing compassion and concern for people. This was very evident in recent years as his and Marlene’s new passion for traveling afforded him the opportunity to take care of all the details so that Marlene could just enjoy their winter vacations together. He was predeceased by his father Cyril, his brother Ken, mother and father-in-law Catherine and Earl Young and sister-in-law Sherryl Young. Eddy will be missed by his wife Marlene, his eldest daughter Debbie Schutte, her husband Darwin Szell , their two girls Sarah and Bria and his youngest daughter Tammy Twyver her husband Neil and their daughter Halle and son Kai.
