Florence “Dorothy” Williams
April 26th, 1916 " May 6, 2007

Florence Dorothy Williams, known affectionately as Dorothy by her friends and family, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 6 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in August 2002. Dorothy was born on the family farm near Vanscoy, Saskatchewan and met Bill whilst living in Saskatoon in the 1930’s. Bill and Dorothy married in 1939 and were Prince Albert residents from the late 1940’s when Bill returned from overseas service in the RCAF. Dorothy is survived by one son, Gordon Williams and his wife Melissa of Newman, Western Australia, as well as grandson Michael Williams of Edmonton, Alberta and granddaughter Lisa Torrisi and her husband Ross of South Johnstone, Queensland, Australia. She is also survived by her sister, Bernice (Betty) Giddens of Toronto and her brother, William (Bill) Bint, of Calgary. Dorothy is also survived by loving nieces and nephews, many of whom knew her as Auntie Pinkie. Dorothy was a life long member of St. Alban’s and spent many years in the Women’s Auxiliary of the Cathedral. She was also a committed community volunteer with many charitable and support organisations. Memorial Service will be held at St. Alban’s Cathedral at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2007, with The Very Reverend Michael Hawkins officiating. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Drew Gray, Funeral Director.
