The family of Glen Ward Gordon are saddened to announce his sudden passing on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at his home just north of Prince Albert, SK. Glen is survived by Joan Gordon, his best friend and wife of 29 years; his daughter Beth (Clint Wiebe) and their son Blake; his daughter Lynn; his brother Russell (Kathleen) and their son Benjamin; sister Lee Ann; uncle Raymond Gordon and Joan’s family, brothers Jerry, Butch (Denise), Les (Robin) and sisters Shirley, Sharon (Rupert), Christine (Stuart), Norma, Debbie (Kevin); Joan’s uncle John Koenig and aunt Sheila Koenig and their extended families. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Ieleen Gordon; Joan’s parents Helge and Erwin Kopp and several aunts and uncles. Glen was born on June 16, 1956 in Milden, SK and grew up in Harris, SK. Glen obtained a Renewable Resources diploma at Kelsey in Saskatoon, and worked as a Resource officer before joining the Prince Albert Police Service in 1979. Glen married Joan Kopp of Loon Lake in 1980 and together they made their home and raised their family in Prince Albert. In 2005, Glen retired from the Prince Albert Police Service, and in “true Glen fashion”, lasted about 3 months as a retiree. He went back to work in the court system and at the time of his passing, was Manager of Court Security in Prince Albert, SK. Glen will be remembered as a loving husband, proud father, overjoyed grandfather, an avid hunter/golfer, dedicated worker and loyal friend. His was truly a good life that was well lived. Glen was well respected and well loved. He will be dearly and forever missed. Public Visitation was held between 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 â€" 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. A Service of Remembrance was held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church, 589 â€" 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. Interment was held on Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Harris Cemetery, Harris, SK. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Victoria Hospital Ambulatory Care, St. David’s Anglican Church or the Prince Albert Wildlife Federation. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
