It is with great sadness that the family of Joanne Marilyn McLeod announce her passing on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, AB at the age of 57. Joanne is survived by her loving husband Andy Petryshen; her son Stuart (Amy) Nunn & granddaughter Lily; her daughter Kara (Derek) Mitchell & grandchildren Jaymon and Layah; her stepchildren Sherry, Andrew and Karyn Petryshen & their children; her brothers and sisters Gail (Doug Nelson), Reid (Carol) McLeod, Bernice (Tom) Ross, Fern (Jim) Fischer, Craig (Laurie) McLeod, Brent McLeod and Carol Reid; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father and mother Cyril and Beatrice (Bundon) McLeod. Joanne was born on December 1, 1953 in Prince Albert. She lived most of her life in Prince Albert before transferring to Sherwood Park, AB to continue her passion as a payroll coordinator, where she was very professional and meticulous. She also enjoyed visiting Waskesiu, Mexico, the Dominican Republic as well as recently Las Vegas. She will be sadly missed: “JOEY OUR BROWN EYED GIRL”. The family of Joanne would like to give a special thanks to the Strathcona County Paramedics, Emergency staff and Intensive Care Unit staff of the Grey Nuns Hospital. A very special thanks to Dr. Mark Ewanchuk and Dr. Stollery of the ICU as well as Pastoral Care Blaine Allan for their support and professionalism. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Grey Nuns Hospital Intensive Care Unit, 2nd Floor, Room 2443, Edmonton, AB. A Celebration of Joanne’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Deacon Eldon Danielson officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
