COLLINS - Marion Jean (nee MacDonald) passed away peacefully at the Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert, SK on March 22, 2007. Marion was born in Tugaske, SK on July 11, 1920. She moved as a young girl to Spiritwood, SK. Marion graduated from Prince Albert Collegiate Institute where she won the Governor General's Award. She then later graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with an Arts and Science degree. Marion married Jack Collins in 1948. They lived most of their married life in Regina and then Penticton where they later retired. Marion moved to Luther Riverside Terrace in Saskatoon in 2001, then ill health prompted another move to the Herb Bassett Home in 2003 to be closer to family. Marion was predeceased by her parents William and Pearle MacDonald; her sisterDonna in infancy; her husband Jack; Jack's brother Joe, and sister Jean Laventure; her brother W. Ken MacDonald and his wife Gwen. Marion is survived by her sister-in-law Vivian Brunet as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of other tributes memorial contributions can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice. A service for Marion will be held at a later date.
