LAHAYEâ€" Michael, it is with great sadness and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael LaHaye. Michael was born November 11, 1949 and passed away July 30, 2007 at the age of 57. Michael was born in Prince Albert and grew up in White Star; he attended White Star School and Composite. Michael spent 25 years in the automotive business in Prince Albert, as Parts Manager at both Arcade Motors and Hillcrest Ford. Michael excelled in this area and as such he won many trips due to his remarkable sales record; including Hawaii, Las Vegas, Barbados, Caribbean and to the Indy 500. Michael then advanced his knowledge and expertise of the automotive industry by becoming co-owner of Ideal Auto Parts in Saskatoon. He enjoyed being in business for himself and went on to own and operate two Mac’s Convenience Stores and a lottery kiosk, all in Saskatoon. In 2000, Michael returned to Prince Albert to start a new chapter in his life, and became the owner/operator of Taco Time in the Gateway Mall until the time of his passing. Michael grew up with a passion for baseball; a passion that stayed with him throughout his whole life â€" he was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and never missed a game. Michael became ill during the last couple of years, and was never able to recover from his illness. He fought a brave fight, never letting on how much pain he was in â€" he suffered more than anyone knew. Before Michael became ill, he enjoyed a full life; he played cards, went camping, boating, fishing and golfing. He was also very handy and was skilled in carpentry and electrical work; he was always quick to lend a helping hand. Michael also enjoyed socializing with friends and family; he had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to tease those he loved most. He was a wonderful partner, father, son, brother and friend.
And when God quietly takes you from me, I will weep
I will know that your pain is over.
I will know you are waiting for me.
We will again be united in love with our Father in heaven.
Michael leaves to celebrate his life, his loving companion Marion LeRay; his daughter Amanda; granddaughter Madeline and his son Craig; his children’s mother Elaine Bye; his mother Adele LaHaye; brothers Paul (Vivian), Ben (Sharron) and sister Louise (Bill Dohan). He is also survived by his stepchildren Jenna (Brian), Virgal (Cindy) and Connie (Leonard); grandchildren Dalton, Sky, Summer, Connor and Christopher as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his father Frank; his brother Raymond; his infant sister; his Godchild and nephew David LaHaye; his infant grandson Thomas LeRay; grandparents Bernadette and Herman LaHaye and Alice and Alex Logodin. Michael had a big heart and was always donating to charities; it is for that reason that the family asks that in lieu of other tributes, a memorial contribution be made to the charity that meant the most to Michael â€" Mont St. Joseph’s Home, or to a charity of your choice. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2007, with Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2007, with the Celebrant being Reverend Father Matthew Nguyen. Both services will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 25th St E. Interment of cremated remains will be held at White Star Cemetery.
