Heavy hearts and profound sadness announce the passing of Peter Pronych on Sunday, May 18, 2008 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer with his wife and sister-in-law at his side. Peter was born on November 24, 1935 in Hafford, SK. The family moved to a farm in the Davis area in 1944. Peter went to school at Paddling Lake, Academy Presentation of Mary. Later he went to Edmonton and took a mechanical course. Peter farmed and worked several jobs, the last of which for the City Police until ill health forced him to retire. In June 1966 Peter married Mary (Petryshen) five weeks short of 42 wonderful years. Their loved created two wonderful sons, Peter Michael and Todd William. Peter and Mary loved fishing and would spend as much time as they could in their fifth wheeler. Besides fishing Peter loved spending time with his family and grandsons. He had a very big heart and would give you the shirt off his back. Peter leaves to mourn his loving wife Mary; son Peter (Cindy) and grandsons Ryan and Jordan and son Todd all of Prince George, BC; his sister Joyce (Roger) of Vancouver; brothers Joe (Florence) of Lake Lenore and Mike of Calgary, AB and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his in-laws. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Victoria Hospital, 1220 " 25th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 4N9 or the Prince Albert SPCA, P.O. Box 1832, Prince Albert, SK S6V 6J9. At the families request no flowers to be accepted. Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2008. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 26, 2008 with the Reverend Father Ivan Nahachewsky officiating. Both services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 260 " 25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be at South Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
