Raymond David Burdeyny passed away unexpectedly at the Royal University Hospital on March 9th, 2008 at the age of 69. Raymond was born January 16, 1939 in Saskatoon to the late Fred and Jessi Burdeyny. Ray grew up in Saskatoon and relocated to Prince Albert in 1978. Ray graduated in Saskatoon and started a rewarding career as an architect. While articling for Ted Arlington he met his wife, to be, Patricia Waite and later married. Ray became an architect for the City of Saskatoon where he designed many of Saskatoons landmark buildings and parks. Ray relocated to Prince Albert to pursue a dream of owning his own company and formed Burdeyny Construction. Ray was a member of the Saskatoon and Prince Albert Kinsmen club for many years and was an active K-40 member, participating in many community events in Prince Albert and Saskatoon. Living in Prince Albert gave him the ability to be close to the landscape and community in which he loved. In the later years his greatest loves were his family, close friends and his creative passion for art and sculpting. Ray will be deeply missed by all. Raymond was predeceased by his wife of 35 years Patricia, and he is survived by his son Brent (Lisa) Burdeyny of Abbotsford, B.C. his daughter Barbara (Ron) Jones of Prince Albert, SK.; his two sisters MaryAnn Cowell of Rochester N.Y. and Rose Herman of Winnipeg, MB. and his two grandchildren Mitchell and Marissa Jones. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to charity of donors’ choice. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Ches Leach Room at the Art Hauser Centre, 690B 32nd Street East with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating.
