Obituary for Threasia Elizabeth Brassard

BRASSARD "Threasia “Terry” beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away quietly in her sleep on February 28, 2008 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert. She was born on April 4, 1925 in Humboldt, SK and the family moved to Richley, SK soon after. Terry started her teaching career right out of high school at the age of 18 in Stanleyville, SK. She married Lucien Conrad Brassard on October 24, 1950 and they had 3 children, Don, Rene, and Pat. They moved to Albertville and lived on the farm. She taught in Paddockwood, Henribourg, and Albertville before retiring in 1985. Terry served as the mayor of Albertville and was an active member in the CWL, Albertville community club, Albertville seniors club, and Prince Albert bowling league. Some of her favourite activities were playing cards with family and friends and going to Sunday bingo. Threasia is survived by her son Rene of New Westminster, BC, her daughter-in-law and son-in-law Lilliane and Louis Hradecki, her grandson Lorenzo(Krista) and great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Ava, grandson Denis, granddaughter Janique (finance Brandon Grimard), granddaughter Janine, her brother Leo Saretsky, her sisters Tillie Saretsky and Dorothy Hall, sister-in-law Helen Saretsky, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Terry was predeceased by her husband Lucien Brassard in 1961, her daughter Pat in 2004, and her son Don in 2005; her parents Bernard and Anne Saretsky; sister Agnes (Joe) L’Henaff, brother Frank Saretsky, brother-in-law John Hall, sister Margaret Saretsky, brother Tony (Carmel) Saretsky. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54-11th Street East, Prince Albert S6V 0Z9. The Prayer Service will be held on Sunday March 2, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday March 3, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Father Tuyen Vu celebrating. Both services will be held at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Albertville, SK. Interment will be held at St. James Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
