ZELENSKY: Walter Zelensky was born in Prince Albert, August 28, 1923 and died March 16, 2007. He was the youngest of 11 children. Walter leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 51 years Pearl; children Curtis, Kim (Colin) Neudorf, Leon (Heather), Rod (Sandy); 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brother Peter (Sophie) Zelensky, sister Helen Goota; mother-in-law Lucy Johnson and many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, friends, neighbors and “coffee buddies”. He was predeceased by his parents Leon and Anastasia Zelensky; brothers George, Harry, Bill, Mike and Fred; his sisters Anne, Mary Rybka and Dolly Oranchuk. Walter farmed in the Kalyna district, where his parents homesteaded. He loved life and everything it had to offer, especially his family, his home, the farm, the warmth of sunshine, trees and flowers, friends, laughter, music and old time dancing. He’s been described by many as a “wonderful man”. People were drawn to his happy and outgoing personality and his genuine interest in the lives of everyone he met. His charm truly was a gift. SOME PEOPLE MAKE THE WORLD MORE SPECIAL JUST BY BEING IN IT. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 10:00 a.m., at St George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church with Father Ivan Nahachewsky officiating. Internment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Memorial tributes may be made in Walter’s name to the Mont St Joseph Home or to the Cancer Clinic, Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel. Marianne Turcotte, Funeral Director.
