We are announcing with sadness the passing of Bill Mischuk on September 9, 2008, at the age of 79. Bill was born in the Ukraine, he travelled by ship with his family to Canada at 6 months of age and homesteaded in Paddockwood. Bill met his loving wife Evelyn in Prince Albert and they were married in 1955. They had two children Lorne and Shirley who he treasured dearly. Bill worked as a Timber Cruiser up north, a Patrol Man for the DNR, ran a boat rental and guiding operation at the Narrows at Waskesiu, he was a farmer and a foreman in the bush operation for Weyerhaeuser. Bill retired in 1992. Since he retired, he continued to farm and spend many great and memorable times with his grandchildren, Tyler and Chantel who were his pride and joy. Bill had a very caring personality, a good sense of humor and enjoyed socializing with friends and family. Bill faced his battle with cancer very courageously and passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital. Left to cherish his memory, his wife Evelyn; children Lorne Mischuk and Shirley (Mike) Ursu; grandchildren Tyler and Chantel Ursu; two brothers Nick and Alex Mischuk and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents James and Effie Mischuk; his sister and brother-in-law Eva (Harry) Toporowski and Annie (John) Podborchynski; two brothers Harry and Paul Mischuk and sister-in-law Elsie Mischuk. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Paddockwood School Gymnasium with Pastor Dennis Serfas, Director Spiritual Care, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
