It is with sadness that the family of Yvonne Carrier announces her passing on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Victoria Hospital, Prince Albert, SK. Yvonne was born in Albertville, SK and was adopted by Aristide and Maria Guilett when she was 9 months old. The family moved to Prince Albert and Yvonne attended the Sion Convent where she received Honors in piano. In 1954 she met Eugene Carrier, and they were married February 23, 1955. She and Eugene had their first child in 1955, their second child in 1957, followed by the birth of their twins in 1963. Yvonne started working at Pineview in 1969 first as an aide, then moving on to the kitchen as a cook. She continued at Pineview until 1989. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She loved cats, knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking, travelling and making her meat pies with her daughter-in-law Marlene. She loved having supper parties. Yvonne moved into the Herb Bassett Home in 2009 until she was transferred to Pineview Lodge in 2013. Yvonne is survived by her sons Marcel Carrier, Norman (Marlene) Carrier, and Denis Carrier (Sandra Henry); her grandchildren Carmelle (Chris) and their children Lindsay Carrier and Blake Watson, Crystal and her children Natalie and Samantha Donald, Jeff Carrier, Stephanie (Tony) and their children Brayden, Colton and Jayda Bird, Terry Fiddler Jr., Alex Fiddler and his daughter Hannah, Denis Carrier Jr., Nathaniel Carrier and his children Bentlee and Kendrah-Lynn, and Jesse Carrier. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene Carrier; her daughter and son-in-law Denise and Richard Burley; her parents Aristide and Maria Guilett; her brother Edmond Guilett; Eugene’s parents Gus and Dora Carrier; and grandson-in-law Kevin Donald. Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Father Matthew Nguyen officiating. Interment will be held at South Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
