Pius Jacob Joseph Senger 1932-2016 We announce the unexpected passing of Pius Senger on September 16, 2016 in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. Dad attended Allan and Elstow schools and farmed at Elstow until 1954. He worked for the CNR from 1957 until his retirement. Dad most recently lived in Shellbrook where he fell in love with the community spirit and made many memorable friends. Pius was predeceased by his wife: Joyce Opseth; his parents: Kasper and Margaret Senger; his sisters: Emma (Jack) Wald and Edith (Jake) Brickner; his brothers: Ronald and Andrew; and his son-in-law: Brian Shier. Pius will be greatly missed by his children: Allan (Nancy), Beverly Shier, Larry (Susan), Dale (Kathy), and Anita Collins; his brother: Raymond (Elenor); his sister-in-law: Elfreda Senger; his children’s mother: Joyce Senger; and his special friend: Helen Poth; as well as his seven grandchildren and his seven great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 1:00 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 704 Adamson Crescent, Shellbrook, SK.
