Steve Kudelka Obituary

Steve Kudelka was born on the family farm on October 15, 1934 to Katrina and John Kudelka. Steve passed away on December 8, 2019 at Newmarket Place, Tisdale, Saskatchewan at the age of 85. As a child, Steve attended Peesane School with his four sisters. After grade 8, he quit school and immediately began helping his parents on the farm. On August 10, 1963, Steve married Bettyann Naumann Ferguson, and they had two children, Laurie and Darrin. During the early years of their marriage, they spent 14 years travelling back and forth to Prince George, British Columbia where Steve was a tree faller in the winter and farmed on the family farming the summer in Peesane, Saskatchewan. Steve loved farming and provided well for his family, but he also took time for extra-curricular activities which included baseball, camping, hunting, fishing, curling, golfing, travelling, dancing and socializing with his family and friends. He also was involved in his community being a Legion member for over 50 years and a member of the Crooked River Curling Club and Crooked River Hall Board – oh, the stories we could tell from that era! Steve and Bettyann struck a good balance with their farming career and spent many years travelling together – most of Canada, Alaska, Florida Keys, Arizona, California and Mexico – just to name a few. Steve was predeceased by his parents Katrina and John Kudelka and his sisters Susan and Amelia. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years Bettyann, daughter Laurie (Darren) and their children Kennedy and Reid; and son Darrin (Adine) and their children Austin and Jamie, his sisters Ann and John Klatik and family and Mary Bray and family; as well as many extended family and friends. Our family thanks you for the many phone calls, texts, flowers, food and visits during this difficult time. Your kindness, prayers and condolences have been very much appreciated.
