Brenda Reichert Obituary

REICHERT: Brenda (nee GROSS) Jan. 18, 1957 – Dec. 3, 2019 Brenda was born in Watrous on January 18, 1957 to Doreen and Alfred Gross of Simpson SK. She was lucky enough to come from a very big family. Her sisters are Janet Gross (Gerald), Debbie Gullacher (Lloyd); and brothers are Doug (Trudy), Garry (Gayle), Ricky (Darlene) and Randy (Joanne). The kids all grew up on the farm west of Simpson and went to school in Simpson as well. After graduation, Brenda started working with her Uncle, Ervin Gross, at the barbershop in Watrous. She commuted back and forth until finally moving to Watrous in 1985. In 1988, Brenda, Joanne Cherney and Betty Herr opened the “Klip and Kurl” on Main Street in Watrous. In 1995, the ladies decided to move their stylist shop to the other side of Gross’ Barber shop, which is where Brenda worked for most of her career. Brenda welcomed her pride and joy, Tanya Rae Moore, on January 11, 1983. Brenda and Tanya were as close as a mother and daughter could ever be. They had a beautiful bond that grew even stronger when Tanya and Nick brought their children, Scarlett Lily Booker and Roman Alexander Booker into the world. Brenda was fortunate to find the love of her life when she met Jerry Reichert of Watrous, in 1986. They were married in Hawaii on January 14, 2005 and have lived in Watrous ever since. They loved to socialize with family and friends and you could usually find them walking up and down the streets of Watrous. In Brenda’s free time, she loved shopping and doing crafts. She also loved her job. Being a stylist for over 40 years meant the world to her. She took pride in her work and loved being involved in her community. Brenda loved the little things in life and always had a smile on her face. The only things she didn’t like were raisins and cherries! Brenda was predeceased by father Alfred Gross; brother Doug Gross and Tanya’s grandparents Dorothy and Howard Moore. Brenda will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. A Celebration of Brenda’s Life was held in the Watrous Civic Centre on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at a later date. For those so wishing, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Watrous Palliative Care Unit, Box 130, Watrous, Saskatchewan S0K 4T0 would be appreciated.
