Weisner, Shirley Janet (Pavelich)

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Shirley Weisner announce her passing at her home at Sherbrooke Community Centre on Saturday December 28, 2019.

On May 29, 1944 in Davidson, SK, Peter and Eva Pavelich were blessed with Shirley, the youngest of 11 children. Shirley was raised on the family farm east of Kenaston until her marriage to Dale on October 21, 1961. Together they built their home on the current Weisner family farm, where they lived until 2015, at which time they moved to Saskatoon. During the many years on the farm, Shirley was known by neighbors and family near and far for her fabulous cooking skills and friendly demeanor. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and always had special presents in the “candy cupboard”. About 18 months after Shirley and Dale moved to Saskatoon, Shirley moved into her home in the Dementia Wing at Sherbrooke Community Centre, where she lived until her passing. Shirley is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dale; her 4 children, Jackie (Scott); Rod (Barbie); Todd (Sandra); Janice (Jason), as well as her grandchildren who held a special place in her heart. Also left to remember Shirley is her brother Lawrence; sisters-in-law Myrna (Ken); Sandra (Dan); Wendy (Paul) and Shelley (Reg); and brother-in-law Dennis (Vickie); and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley will be laid to rest in Watrous on Friday January 3, 2020, with a short service at Fotheringham Funeral Home in Watrous, SK at 10:30 a.m. and interment at Watrous cemetery. Following the interment, the family invites all who knew and loved Shirley to join them for a Funeral Service and celebration of her life at Kenaston Place in Kenaston,SK at 2 pm.
