Edward Baty

Edward L. Baty age 94, of Cleveland passed away Thursday, October 6th, 2016 at St. Vincent's Blount . Survivors include Daughter: Jane (Fred) Ponder of Cullman, Sons Robert (Rosa) Baty and Joe Baty of Cleveland, Six grandsons: Scott (Teresa) Baty of Goodwater, Darrell Ponder of Huntsville, Alan (Heather) Baty of Birmingham, Marc (Brandi) Ponder of Cullman, Steven (Dee) Baty of Huntsville, Ryan (Bonnie) Baty of Cullman and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Mr. W. C. Baty and Mrs. Eura Baty, Wife: Bernice Deaver Baty; Brothers; Glen, Wallace, Maxey and Tom Ed Baty. The family will receive friends at the Cleveland United Methodist Church Sunday, October 9th, 2016 1:00 pm 3:00 pm Funeral Services will be held Sunday, October 9th, 2016 at 3:00 pm at the Cleveland United Methodist Church, 7100 County Highway 1 Cleveland, Alabama 35049, with burial to follow at Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland , Alabama . Mr.Baty was self-employed as a Mechanic. He was involved with and served on Cleveland City Council; instrumental in getting the Clinic here in Cleveland, also serving on the Birmingham Regional Planning Commission. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years.. Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
