Jerry Wayne Woodard, age 69, of Warrior passed away Sunday, July 3rd, 2016 at his residence. Survivors include brother Robert Earl (Sharon) Woodard; niece Deanna (Franklin) Bell; nephew Matthew Earl (Carol) Woodard; special friends Randy, Yvonne, Blake Whisonant; Amber, Gavin, Jenna, and Lawson Rathbone. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy Chester (Buster) and Annie Mae Woodard. The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel 17885 State Hwy 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049 on Friday, July 8th, 2016 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral Services will be held following at 11:00 am in the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Austin Creek Cemetery in Blountsville, Alabama. Mr. Woodard was veteran of Marines, serving 2 consecutive tours in Vietnam. He enjoyed farming, especially cows; woodworking; was a very talented artist; loved remote airplanes; was a great storyteller; an avid Alabama fan; and he took care of his Mom for many years. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Battered Women and Children's Fund through the Hope House in Oneonta, AL. Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
