Norman Stephens

Mr. Norman Anderson Stephens, age 79, of Oneonta passed away peacefully Sunday, June 12th, 2016 at his residence. Survivors include wife Ann Stephens; son Timmy Dewayne Stephens; daughter Anne Lynene Marsh; brother Homer Lee (Reba) Stephens; sister Betty Lynn Tarverna; grandchildren Brandee Ann (Josh) Tipton, Joshua Preston (Candace) Marsh, Hannah (Nicholas) Gotay, Emily (Daniel) Bailey, Ryan (Leanna) Stephens, Laura Stephens, Lance Stephens, Nathan Stephens, Alanna Stephens, Vanessa Stephens, Autumn (Lucas) Taylor; special nephew Ken Tarverna; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Elton and Arbie Stephens; and his son Byron Anderson Stephens. The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel 17885 State Hwy 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049 on Tuesday, June 14th, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 15th, 2016 at 11:00 am in Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Dailey's Chapel Cemetery in Oneonta, Alabama. Mr. Stephens was retired from Russ Industries after 27 years as a Engineer; he also retired from the Blount County Commission after 15 years. Mr. Stephens was a Member of the Board at Palisades Park; a Member of the Chamber of Commerce; and a Member of the St. Clair County Camp 308 Sons of the Confederate; he enjoyed woodworking and loved to travel. Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
