Oliver Garnto

Oliver Henry Garnto, age 86, of Locust Fork passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 8th, 2019 at Compassus/St. Martin of the Pines in Birmingham. Mr. Garnto was born on October 24, 1932 to Hoke Smith and Nellie Pearl Garnto. He was a member of Locust Fork Baptist Church and loved to watch old westerns on TV. He was an avid Alabama football fan and Braves baseball fan. Left to cherish precious memories are his wife Vonnie "Missy" Garnto; son Doug Garnto (Carla); daughter Dianne Johnson (Bob); brother Larry Garnto (Wanda); step brother Joe Lowrey (Pat); half brothers Smitty Garnto, Glenn Garnto (Susan); sister Mildred Gilbert (Wayne); grandchildren Daniel Johnson, David Johnson, Garrick Hock (Amanda), Genna Hock (Dustin) Kylee Malone (Jake); great grandchildren Sarah, Sophia, Olivia, Abram, Coralee, and Carlee. The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home on Monday, August 12th, 2019 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held following at 2:00 pm in Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel; Bro. Rufus Harris and Bro. Randy Cater officiating. Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mr. Garnto's memory. Pallbearers to include Bob Johnson, Steve Davis, Patrick Davis, Jake Malone, David Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Dustin Mize, Garrick Hock, Justin Davis. Arrangements entrusted to the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home.
