Peggy Jo (Hunt) White, age 80, of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, October 31st, 2017 at St. Vincent's East Hospital. Survivors include husband Sherry White; sons Dr. Carl David White, Steve and Darlyne White, Phil and Beth White; daughter Ann and Ron Tillman; sister Patty and Delane Moon; grandchildren Mitch and Madison White, Hannah Tillman and J. T. Lee, Tyler White, Hunter and Brittney Birdyshaw, Hesston and Kelsey Birdyshaw, John White, Maris Tillman, Tristan Tillman, Michael White, Charlie White, Alex White; great grandchildren Laney, Easton, Romy, Townes, Tatum, and Avy. Preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Martha Rena Hunt. The family will receive friends the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home on Friday, November 3rd, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 4th, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, Alabama. Mrs. White was retired from the Blount County Board of Education as a Teacher / Principal. She taught school and was an assistant principal at Cleveland School and a principal at the first Hayden Middle School. Mrs. White was a member of the Alabama Educators Association and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was chairperson of the Cleveland Cemetery Board who enjoyed all types of sewing, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, and needlework. She liked to color and was a great Rook player.
