RuthAnn "Lady Bluejay" (Kissling) Martin, age 75, of Hayden passed away suddenly Tuesday, April 4th, 2017 at St. Vincent's Blount. Mrs. Martin was an avid CB radio and Hamm Radio Operator known as "Lady Bluejay"; she enjoyed watching soap operas and NCIS. Mrs. Martin delighted in sewing and quilting, making many quilts over the years. She adored fishing, and BBQing, and doted on her family making them her most important thing in her life. Mrs. Martin was a retired seamstress with K & D Industries in Blountsville. Survivors include sons Raymond Martin, Jedy (Penny) Martin, Earnest Martin II, Alton (Sarah) Martin; daughter Alice (Marcus) Horton; brother Joe Carpenter; sisters Linda Phillippo, Debbie Cooley, Dixie Carrier, Rosemarie Michels; grandchildren Austin Martin, Justin Martin, James Martin, Aimee Martin. She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Edwin and Winifred Harriet Kissling; husband Earnest Paul Martin; brother Melvin "Butch" Kissling; and grandchild Alexis Martin. The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home on Friday, April 7th, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Brooksville, Alabama. Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
