Wanda Holt

Wanda Faye (Self) Holt, age 77, of Locust Fork, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11th, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Holt was a prior member of Eastern Star; a Sunday School teacher for many years and a prior Youth Director at Locust Fork Baptist Church. She was a substitute teacher at Locust Fork High School. She doted on her family, her extended family, her church family and her friends. Mrs. Holt loved to sing and shop; she loved Nascar especially Mark Truex Jr.. She was an avid Auburn fan and a huge part of the Locust Fork community. Left to cherish special memories are husband of 57 wonderful years, Marris Holt; son De Wayne Holt; daughters De Anne Holt Gaynor, husband Mikey, Elizabeth Holt Story, husband Kyle; grandchildren Grace Doty, Ben Gaynor, Mallory Story, Coy Story; great grandchild Mathew; a host of church family and other relatives and lots of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents James Emberry and Ruby Thelma Self. The family will receive friends at the Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 14th, 2019 at 11:00 am in Locust Fork Baptist Church, with Bro. Randy Cater and Bro. Daryl Holt officiating. Mrs. Holt will lie in state at the church from 10 AM until service time. Burial to follow at Pine Bluff Cemetery in Locust Fork, Alabama. Arrangements entrusted to the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home.
