Arlie Staten

Arlie (Buddy) Ellis Staten Jr. 74, died Saturday November 25, 2017 at home with his family. Buddy was born April 29, 1943, to parents Arlie E. Staten Sr. and Margaret G. Hagan. He was the 6th of 8 children. Buddy was a very talented and active man. He worked on ranches, served in the military, worked for the mines and managed several propane companies. Buddy also taught firearm safety for over 30 years and coached softball. He was a devoted husband and father who loved hunting, fishing, camping and coaching. He was preceded into death by his parents, his two brothers Barney and Jack, his four sisters Jean, Lavonne, Bonnie Lou and Judy, the mother of his children Bonnielynn Staten, one daughter Christine and his grandson Keegan. Buddy is survived by his wife, Velma Staten, his brother Mickey, children Lea, Royanna (Tom), Neil (Christine) and his stepson Alton, along with 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, December 8, 2017 at Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 15950 N. Luckett Rd in Marana Arizona. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Southwest Indian Children’s Fund; P.O. Box 906; Broken Arrow, OK 74013. Arrangements entrusted to Adair Funeral Homes Avalon Chapel (742-7901)
