Sydney Jean Oppenheimer went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2017. Sydney is survived by her husband of 62 years, James L. Oppenheimer and preceded in death by grandparents, Sidney and Gertrude Deal and parents, Ralph and Violet Deal. Sydney is survived by her children, Christine Ann (Stan) Helin, Karen Aileen (Bill) VanderWall, David Deal (Stacy) Oppenheimer, and James Bruce Oppenheimer; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Sydney was a loving and devoted wife and mother who was a caring and compassionate Christian who was always in prayer and an inspiration to all in their Christian faith. Sydney was a native Arizonan born in Phoenix, AZ on May 21, 1932. She was a devout Christian and before moving from Pinetop, AZ in 2015 was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Pinetop, AZ and currently a member of Grace Community Church, Tucson, AZ. Those who knew her will forever have her in their heart and memory. Memorial Service will be held at Adair Funeral Homes, Avalon Chapel at 8090 N. Northern Ave., Oro Valley, AZ on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 3:00 pm. In memory contributions may be sent to Grace Community Church Youth Fund, 9755 N. La Cholla Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85742.
