Richard E. Tomlinson, 79, of Aztec died on Monday, March 11, 2013 in Aztec. He was born July 6, 1933 in O’Neil, Neb. to Richard and Doris Tomlinson.
Richard had a BS in Agriculture, Masters Degree in Psychology and counseling. He was a former Assistant Principal, Math/Science teacher, driver’s education instructor and a volunteer fire fighter.
Richard was preceded in death by his sons, Jerald Dean and Edward Tomlinson; parents; brothers, Mickey and James Tomlinson and sisters, Emma Jean Parks and Suzanne Syslo.
He is survived by his sons, Ricardo, Rolland and Richard Tomlinson Jr.; daughter, Michelle Alvarez; brothers, George, John Casey and Dennis Tomlinson and sister, Patricia Brookhouser.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, March 15, at Cope Memorial Chapel in Aztec.
Interment will follow in Aztec Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Ricardo Tomlinson, Jonathan Alvarez, Emmanuel Gleason, Chris Coho, Steve Dempsey and George Tomlinson.
Richard’s care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 405 S. Main Ave., in Aztec 505-334-9332.
