Alice Gamino

Alice R. Gamino, 90, of Silvis, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at her daughter's home in Glendale, AZ. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Silvis. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or the American Cancer Society. Alice R. Terronez was born on January 31, 1926, in Silvis, the daughter of Phillipe and Albina Rivera Terronez. On May 27, 1950, she married Paul Gamino at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Silvis. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1980. In earlier years she worked for Buddy L Co., Devonshire, and Ice Cream Palace. Alice enjoyed spending winters in Arizona with her daughter. She was an active member of the church participating in the women's group and adoration. She made beautiful quilts for family and charity. She was a wonderful cook and made the best Mexican food. Survivors include daughter, Elva Charette, Glendale, AZ; son, Rolando (Cathy) Gamino, East Moline; grandsons, John Gamino and Aaron Gamino; granddaughter, Amanda Charette; sisters, Lupe Terronez, LaGrange Park, and Cecilia (Don) Raischel, Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John, Albert, David, Anthony and Frank Terronez; and son-in-law, Normand Charette.
