Carol Lynn Carpenter (née Hubbard), 69, of Peoria, AZ, formerly of Milwaukee, WI, died March 28th 2020, after a courageous struggle with respiratory failure. Carol was born August 19, 1950 in Chicago, IL and was the daughter of John Thomas Hubbard and Beulah May Sesock (now Rosenstock). She attended grade school partly in Chicago, partly in Milwaukee, and partly in Phoenix. The family moved from Milwaukee, WI to Phoenix, AZ in 1960 to reap the health benefits of a warmer climate. Carol attended Camelback High School in Phoenix, AZ between 1964 and 1969 and graduated with a High School Diploma. In 1973 Carol married Willard Herbert Carpenter - born in Vienna, Austria and raised in New York, NY - and they had a son, Grant Carpenter, on November 22nd 1977. They divorced in 1981 but maintained amicable ties over the years. Carol and her son Grant lived with Beulah Rosenstock (her mother) and Frank Rosenstock (her step-father) for several years. Soon after Frank's death in March 1991, she moved to an institution where her needs could be better addressed. Over the years Carol maintained close contact with her son Grant and her mother Beulah (who had obtained legal guardianship of Grant), visiting and telephoning regularly and warmly. The bond between the three was deep and loving. When Carol's son Grant moved to the United Kingdom in June 2004, she and Grant often kept in touch over the telephone, and he visited her several times. Carol is survived by: her mother, Beulah Rosenstock, of Phoenix, AZ; and her son, Grant Carpenter, of Birmingham, UK. Due to the current pandemic, there was no funeral. Carol's ashes remain with her mother Beulah. There will, however, be a posthumous church service when safe and reasonable to do so.
