Catherine Amerman Obituary

Catherine Osborne Sherrod Amerman passed away September 28, 2016. She was born January 14, 1919 in Clarksville, Arkansas to William Forrest and Cora Greene Osborne. She grew up and graduated from high school in Little Rock, Arkansas. A marriage to Floyd H. Sherrod Jr. ended in divorce. September 29, 1946 she married Charles Jordan Amerman of Skaneateles, New York. They relocated to the Phoenix, Arizona area and resided there until retiring to Montrose, Colorado in April, 1980. They returned to a retirement complex in Peoria, Arizona in October 2013. She is survived by her husband of 70 years and 5 children: Floyd H. Sherrod III and wife Marilyn, Ponca City, OK; Stephen Forrest Sherrod, Ankeny, IA; Charles Brian Amerman and wife Belinda, Runaway Bay, TX; Nancy Amerman Morton and husband David, Glendale, AZ; Jordan Lawrence Amerman, St. Petersburg, FL; and daughter-in-law Maria Sherrod Bergquist and husband Ken, Sun City West, AZ. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and 2 younger brothers, William Louis Osborne and George Fulmer Osborne; a daughter, Kitty Sherrod Milner, and her husband, David Willard Milner. At her request, cremation will take place and no services will be held. Inurnment will be in her family plot in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. “The Moving Finger writes: and, having writ, Moves on: nor all your Piety nor Wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.” Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam
