Cecil Devan Dobbs Obituary

Cecil Devan Dobbs, Jr. was born May 15, 1941 in Okalona, Mississippi to the union of the late C. D. Dobbs, Sr and Virgie Jean Jenkins Dobbs who proceded him in death . Cecil moved to Albany, New York with his family as a young boy where he attended school. Cecil joined the United States Navy on September of 1963 and served in the Vietnam war and received the Vietnam Service Medal with the Bronze Star and National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Cecil also retired from the Army Reserve after sixteen years. After leaving the U. S. Services with an honorable discharge he was employed by McDonald Douglas Aircraft, Inc of Long Beach, California and later employed by the city of Long Beach. Cecil relocated to Atlante Geogia where he was employed by Delta Airlines and later tranferred to Miami, Flordia. After retiring from Delta Airlines, Cecil moved to Memphis TN., where he thought it was a manly town. Where he became a Custom Agent for Northwest Airlines and traveled to almost every state in the United States. In 1965 he married Sherbert S. Dobbs of Wetumpka, Alabama. To this Union two sons, Cecil Devan Dobbs, III and Victor Emil Dobbs. Cecil departed this life on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:05 A.M. in Banner Thunderbird Hosiptal in Goodyear , AZ. He leaves to cherish his memories: two sons, Cecil Devan Dobbs , III of Long Beach, Ca and Victor Emil and Alicia Dobbs of Goodyear, Az. Three Granddaughters Tiana Dobbs of Northern Az. University , Kolesia Dobbs of Torrance, Ca. and Juliann Jenkin of New York. Two Grandsons Cecil Devan Dobbs, IV of Long Beach, Ca. and Charles-Victor Lamar Dobbs of Goodyear Az. And one Great Grandson Chance Dobbs, One sister Jonell Dobbs of Albany, New York and one brother Willie Joe Dobbs of Albany, New York, and a devoted brother-in law and sister –in law Charles and Carolyn Henderson of Wetumpka, Ala. and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and friends. He was proceeded in death by three brothers Lacey Dobbs, Cedell Dobbs and Robert Jean Dobbs.
