Doris Smith

Doris P. Smith born on May 20, 1929 in Quanah Texas passed away on March 25, 2017 in Glendale, Arizona. Born and raised in Texas, Doris moved to Arizona with her parents and siblings in 1946. After moving away for over 40 years and raising her children with her husband she moved back to Arizona to help care for her father. Predeceased by her husband Bud E. Smith, her parents J.O. (Otha) Brownlow and Lillian (Gattis) Brownlow, her brother H. Gheral Brownlow and her sister Darla Oberdank. She will be sadly missed by her children Vicki Melton (Temple), Cheryl Billig (Charles), and Michael Smith (Maryann); her grandchildren Chrystal Miller (Ronald), Michael Billig (Kerri), Jamie Smith, Kristen Smith, and David Melton; her great-grandsons Cooper Miller and Edison Billig, and many nieces and nephews. Doris was a very loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her. A memorial service will be held for family at a later date. Doris will be laid to rest with her husband at Mesa Cemetery in Mesa Arizona. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at 30 East 33rd St. New York, NY 10016, Attn: Finance Department or online at www.kidney.org, or to the charity of your choice.
