Earl Cook

Earl Alden Cook was born June 4th, 1921. He passed away July 10th, 2014 in Sun City, Arizona. Earl Cook was born in rural Thayer, Iowa; his parents were Hazel Stoner Cook and Harry L. “Pete” Cook. He graduated from Thayer High School, Thayer Iowa. Earl was a vet of WW2, serving on a destroyer. After he was discharged from the Navy, he had a long career with Equitable Life of Iowa in Des Moines, Iowa. After retirement Earl and wife Ruth would enjoy winters in warmer areas, namely, California and Arizona. Eventually they picked Sun City, AZ as their full time residence. Earl Cook was an avid golfer, bowler, and bridge player. He never met a stranger, and had a great sense of humor. Earl will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. He was predeceased by his mother, father, two sisters, a brother, and his wife, Ruth, of over 60 years. Earl is survived by his wife at home, Barbara, and his nephews and nieces.
