Elaine McPeak

Elaine Carol (Kreisberg) McPeak, age 75, died on July 10th, after a year-long battle with malignant neoplasm of the gallbladder. Elaine was born on August 4, 1940, in the steel town of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania to Sol and Evelyn Kriesberg (Buck). After making her career choice at an early age, Elaine pursued a Bachelor’s Degree from Slippery Rock State Teachers’ College. At Racoon Elementary School, she met her best friend and soulmate, Donald E. McPeak, also a teacher in the Hopewell District. After their marriage, they moved to Arizona where they began their family.  Later Elaine pursued her Master’s Degree at Arizona State University. She retired after 26 years in the Peoria School District and worked an additional seven years as a student teacher supervisor for ASU West. Elaine is survived by her husband of 53 years: Donald E. McPeak; her brother, David S. Kreisberg (Pat, R.B. (Jen), Ryan and Rachel); daughters, Diane Sorden and Denise Pryde (Gary); and grandchildren:  Tyler,  Austin, Adam, Clarissa and Stephen. Elaine will be missed. She had a genuine interest in others and a good listening ear. Elaine was open, positive and real, which made for a wonderful life.
