Glen Sweatfield Obituary

Glen Quinton Sweatfield was born on February 3, 1955 in Roswell, New Mexico to Glen and Nancy Sweatfield. He went to be with his Heavenly family on March 6, 2016. Glen was preceded in death by both his parents, his brother Jimmy Sweatfield, and his son Jason Andrew Madsen. He leaves behind his wife Theresa of the family home in Phoenix, Arizona, his son Jason Glen Sweatfield and wife Hannah of Roswell, New Mexico, his son William Dale Madsen and wife Christina of Bryan, Texas, his daughter Jessica Ruth Burkhardt and husband Don of Phoenix, Arizona, and his daughter Stormy Gale Sweatfield and her partner Casey of Mesa, Arizona. He also leaves behind four sisters and a brother: Rose Dick and her husband Wayne, Barbara Murray and her husband Steve, Sharon Burgos, and Mona Archuleta all of Roswell, and Everitt Sweatfield of Colorado. Glen was grandpa to eleven grandchildren, and uncle to seven nephews and nine nieces. Glen spent his early years riding horses with his dad, participating in rodeos, and ranching. Later he began a career as a contractor installing fiber optic cable. That job led him to Phoenix, Arizona where he lived for 23 years, although his heart was always in New Mexico. He collected Arizona Diamondbacks memorabilia and enjoyed watching sports and golfing. Glen loved going to sporting events to watch his grandsons Jacob, Thomas, Christopher, and Stuart play basketball and football. Glen also loved hunting with his granddaughter Emily and sharing a room with his grandson Zane any time he was visiting Roswell. Glen and Theresa were together for 35 happy years. He will be missed by his friends and family. A memorial service will be held in Phoenix on March 19 officiated by Pastor Pontus Karnsund. A memorial service will be held in Roswell on April 1 at 11:00 AM at Roswell First Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Danny Sons. In lieu of flowers for both services, the family requests that you make a donation in Glen’s name to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
