J.D. Briscoe Obituary

JD Briscoe, 85, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on 03/02/2017. JD attended Capital Hill High School in Oklahoma City. He enlisted in the Army in 1949. He served until 1952, at which time he joined his two brothers, J. R. and Joe in Waterloo, IA, meeting and marrying his wife of 64 years, Edna Lehman. He returned to Oklahoma City, where he worked in the plumbing industry, joining the Union in 1957. He worked as a union plumber pipe fitter in Oklahoma until he and his family moved to Tucson, AZ in 1969. He worked out of the Union Hall in Tucson until he retired in 1990. In 2002 he moved to Phoenix where he attended Community Church of Joy as long as he was able. J D was born in Oklahoma City, OK to the late George and Lucy Briscoe. He is survived by his loving wife, Edna Lehman Briscoe, son, Allen (Hope) of Phoenix, AZ, four grandsons, Nathan, Micah (Daniela), Joshua (Megan), Daniel, three great grandchildren, Grace, John, Samuel, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Montabelle, Sylvia, and Aileen, and three brothers, Jack, J.R, and Joe. Graveside Services will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ on March 14, at 10:30 AM.
