John Charles Dawson “Jake”, 64 years old, of Desert Hills, AZ passed away on September 15, 2019 at 2:34pm from complications associated with an accidental fall at his home.
The memorial service will be held at 10:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-Day Saints, Daisy Mountain Ward building located at 44611 North New River Road, New River, AZ 85087. No burial service will be conducted.
Jake was born in Greenwich, CT on April 30th 1956. He graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, CA with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Management.
Jake was married to Ally Dawson “Dodi” on June 2, 1978; they were married for 41 years.
Jake worked in construction management for much of his career but in his final years he followed his passion and worked for himself “swinging a hammer” as a private contractor before his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his animals, he had a passion for automobiles, he tinkered on projects every day and he logged more hours watching Fox News than anyone in the western United States of America. He was also very active with his church callings and never turned down a service project.
Jake is survived by his wife Allyson and their four children; Jonathan, Jaclyn, Patrick and Matt. He had eight grandchildren, two horses, two dogs and one cat along with an infinite number of loving friends. Jake is also survived by his sister, Sharon Dawson and two brothers, Rick and JAC Redford.
Jake is preceded in death by his father John Sloman Dawson “Jack”, his mother Peggy Noonan Dawson and his step-mother Patricia Jackson.
