Larry V. Hardesty Obituary

Larry Hardesty, age 76, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at HonorHealth John C. Lincoln Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Willowbrook United Methodist Church, 19390 North 99th Avenue, Sun City, Arizona, with Pastor Gary Kennedy, officiating. Interment will be at Sunland Memorial Park. Larry was born February 1, 1942, in Bloomington, Illinois, a son of George and Pauline Hardesty. He grew up on a farm near Sibley, Illinois, and graduated from Melvin-Sibley High School in 1960. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1964 and worked for John Deere and Claas of America. He married Sharon Wilson on June 29, 1968. They lived in Moline, Lincoln, and Petersburg, Illinois, and Columbus, Indiana. They retired in 2000 moving to Sun City, Arizona. Larry was an active member of Willowbrook United Methodist Church in Sun City, Arizona. Larry is survived by his wife, Sharon, of 50 years, his brother, Ron (Nancy) Hardesty of Saint Peter, Minnesota, nephew, Kevin (Lisa) Hardesty, and niece Janene (Jim) Kalina, and seven great-nephews and nieces, Blake, McKenzie, Seth and Payton Hardesty, and Megan, Abby and Elizabeth Kalina and by his faithful fur companion, Addie. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, John Evans. On line condolences may be left for the family at Regency Mortuary at regencymortuary.com.
