Leonard ‘Lanny’ Eugene Lappin, 78, of Phoenix, Arizona, died December 27th, 2016 at Honor Health Hospital in Phoenix. Lanny was born August 17th, 1938 in Hannibal, Missouri. Lanny served in the Navy from 1955-1959. After the Navy Lanny went to the University of Arizona before becoming a Deputy Sheriff for Pima County, Arizona from 1964–1975 when he retired. His hobbies were fishing, bird hunting and watching old westerns. Lanny is survived by his loving wife, Grace Ann Lappin, of 42 years, his sister Donna Jean Eaton, 7 daughters’ Teresa Lappin (Gary Rosenbaum), Brenda (Dave) Klida, Constance (Donald) Swink, Debbie (Eddie) Mendoza, Gretchen (Doug) Watt, Dellamarie (Khristopher) Maiden, Toni Lynn Lappin (Manfred Fails), 18 grandchildren 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie of Tucson, Arizona and sister of Francis Marie of Hannibal, Missouri. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12th from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Regency Mortuary located at 9850 W. Thunderbird Blvd. Sun City, Arizona 85351 and graveside services starting at 1:00 PM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona located at 23029 N Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
