Martin Billingsley Obituary

After a lengthy illness, and surrounded by family, Martin Francis Billingsley (Marty) passed away in the early morning of August 4, 2014 at his home in Sun City, Arizona. Marty was 87 years old, and is survived by his lovely wife of 57 years, Carol, four loving children (Martin Jr., Carol and spouse Mike, Vicki and spouse Doug, and Bernie), three grandchildren, a great grandchild, and five of his 11 siblings. Marty served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, retired as a railroad freight conductor from Conrail in 1987, and relocated to Arizona from Pennsylvania in 1991. Marty’s primary focus during his retirement was to enjoy his family. He was also an avid golfer and an active member of St. Vincent de Paul charitable organization. Marty was a selfless, loving man and words cannot adequately express the deep sense of loss felt by the family and those fortunate others whose lives he has touched. “You are finally free, Dad! Thank you for all the wonderful gifts you brought to our lives!” A service will be held at St. Joachim & St. Anne church at 11625 N 111 Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351, on Monday, Aug 11, 2014, at 2:30pm for those that wish to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor would be most appreciated. Send them, in Honor of Martin Billingsley, payable to St. Vincent de Paul, to the Church of St. Joachim and St. Anne, 11625 N 111th Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351.
