MARY DUKESHIER

Mary Lou Dukeshier Mary Dukeshier, 80, passed away peacefully on October 26 in Phoenix, Arizona, following several years of living with the confusion caused by Alzheimers. Mary was born January 12th, 1932 in Sand Creek Twp, Slope County, North Dakota to Ed and Lora (Lambourn) Groce, and was the second of 10 children. She met her future husband of 58 years, Glen Dukeshier, while attending high school in Ione, Washington. They were married in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on February 8, 1949. Mary and Glen raised their family in Ione, where she worked for several years at Selkirk HS. They finished their careers on the Kitsap Peninsula near Poulsbo, Washington, enjoying several years looking out from their home over Puget Sound at Bainbridge Island. Mary and Glen built their retirement dream home in Sedona, Arizona, where they both became very active in the Elks, and where they continued to enjoy their lifelong passion for dancing. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, sisters Lois and Janet and brother Dick, parents, Ed Groce and Lora Robison, and grandson Mikel Dukeshier, and is survived by their three children, Phillip (and wife Janne), Phyllis, and Ron (and wife Virginia). Mary leaves nine grandchildren (Chad, Aaron, Sara, Jennifer, Jacob, Shela, Andri, Kyle and Janessa), and sixteen great-grandchildren (Ayden, Owen, Ayla, Tyler, Alyssa, Malekhi, Gabrial, Kaylani, Krista, Austin, Thomas, Gunner, Primabella, Caleb, Graysin, and Hux). She is also survived by sisters Helen Ellis and Virginia (Groce), brothers: Kenneth, Ray, Jim, and Larry Groce; and step-sisters Joan (Robison) Adamak and Marilyn Robison. A memorial service is scheduled at the Regency Mortuary in Sun City, AZ on Saturday, November 17th, at 1:00 PM.
