Mary Arlene Larsen

Mary Chapman Larsen, 90, went to meet her Lord Jesus on August 25, 2015. She was born in Alden, MI, May 28, 1925, to William D. Chapman and Birtha Wheeler Chapman. She attended high school in Mancelona, MI and Bellaire, MI and received additional training at NYA School in Traverse City, MI. She married L.V. Smith of Alden, June 2, 1951 and they lived in Phoenix until they retired to Alden, MI in 1988. After her husband's death in 2000, she married John A Larsen in 2001. They made their home in Alden and Traverse City, MI until they moved to Sun City, AZ in 2010 where they had spent many beautiful winters, and where they became members of Grace Bible Church. Mrs. Larsen was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sister Ruth (Don) Johnson of Mancelona, MI, daughters Judy (Vern) Gilmore, Caddo Gap, AR, Jean Brown, Sun City, AZ, sons Charles “Ben” Smith, Young, AZ, and Stephen (Danielle) Smith, Fruit Heights, UT, also by a step daughter Andrea (David) Scott, Ann Arbor, MI, and step-son Craig (Jody) Larsen, Beth, MI, 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and step grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Grace Bible Church at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 4th, 2015. Burial will be in the Chapman Cemetery, Custer Township, Antrim, County MI.
