Millie Mednansky Millie was born April 16,1929 to John and Kathryn Bielsik in Chicago , Illinois, who had immigrated from Slovakia in 1921 and 1922. Her parents met at St. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church and were married there in 1924. Millie was born in 1929 and joined her sisters Ann and Kathryn who were 3 and 1 1/2 years old. Millie was baptized at St. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church when she was 6 weeks old. Being it was the start of the Great Depression, her parents moved to a farm near Traverse City, Michigan when Millie was a year old. Her parents had 2 more children, a son Frank seven years later, and then a daughter, Mary. Millie was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City where she was a member. Millie loved farming and enjoyed the hard work in the fields along with her family. She also loved horseback riding with her brother to bring the cows and cattle in from the pasture every evening for milking. Many years later, her parents moved to Cicero, Illinois where Millie met and married Steve Mednansky on October 29, 1949. Millie graduated from Cook County School of Nursing and was a nurse for many many years along with being a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and recently a great grandmother. Millie and Steve were blessed with 3 sons and one daughter, two daughter in laws and three granddaughters who were the love of her life. She recently became a great grandmother which brought her great peace and joy in her last days. Millie passed away peacefully on October 11, 2015 at Del Webb Memorial Hospital after an unexpected severe illness. She leaves behind her devoted husband Steve of 65 years, sons Mark and wife Shelly of Southlake, TX., Michael of Glendale, AZ. Marty and wife Sally of Puyallup, WA,. daughter Susan of Phoenix, AZ, granddaughter Courtney and husband Andy Gribble of North RIchland Hills, TX and their new baby Jack Henry, granddaughters Sara and husband Matthew Richardson, of Burlington VT.,. Alicia Mednansky of Puyallup, WA., brother Frank Bielsik and wife Peggy of Fountain Valley, CA., sister Ann Jennings of Phoenix, AZ, sister Mary and Hal Holman of Phoenix, AZ and many nieces and nephews. Her mother, father and sister Kathyrn all preceded her in death in 1988. Millie had many favorite Bible verses, John 3:16, Isaiah 53:5, Mark 8: 36 and Psalm 23. Her favorite songs were "Amazing Grace," What a Friend We Have in Jesus," "If We Never Meet Again This Side of Heaven" and "Life's Railway to Heaven." Millie lived a full and blessed life and was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. Her prayer and hope was that her beloved husband Steve, her dear children, and family wouldn't mourn her but rejoice that she is now with her Savior and will always be with them in spirit and reunite with them one day on God's heavenly shore. Services will be held October 17, 2015 at 11:00am followed by a luncheon at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, 15630 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ.
