Norman John Simpson 6/27/1937 - 12/11/2017 Norm died peacefully, quickly, and with dignity at home the morning of December 11th with his devoted wife and faithful dog at his bedside. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mildred (Eighmy) Simpson, and his six brothers, Ralph, Bill, Bob, Buddy, Frank, and John, with whom he was extremely close. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sheryl Simpson, his children, Karen (Alan) Smith, Norman Simpson, Jr., and Noelle (Nicholas) Trinder, his grandchildren, Jaclyn, Christopher (Kate), Kyle, Kara, Elayna, and Jack, and his great grandchildren, Grant and Neil. He is survived by his sister, Ruth (Bob) Holbrook. Norm (affectionately known as Normie Bear) was born in Erie, PA, the 5th of 8 children (7 boys and 1 girl!). He was a member of the Glee Club, a 1955 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He “bled Carrier blue" while enjoying a 32 year career with Carrier Transicold, where he mentored, led, and impacted positively many people and implemented global parts programs which continue today. Throughout his life, he traveled across America and the world. He was a wonderful dancer and singer. During retirement, he was an avid golfer as well as a talented artist. He enjoyed Diamondbacks baseball games and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He role modeled what it meant to love his family and friends deeply and to live without regret. Everyone loved Normie Bear! Per Norm’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service. He took pleasure in pictures, stories, and special memories.
