Richard Harold Sonnenberg, 81, of Sun City, Arizona passed away January 20, 2020 in Peoria, Arizona. He was born June 18, 1938 in Elgin, Minnesota , a son of Harold and Helen Harvey Sonnenberg. He spent his early years and was educated in Rochester, Minnesota and graduated from Rochester High School in 1956. After high school he enlisted in the US Army and served as an MP from 1960 to 1966. He was a manager at IBM in Minnesota for over 33 years. He married Irene DiMaggio on May 21, 2006 in Hawaii. They met and fell in love while they both worked at WalMart. He and Irene lived in Sun City, Arizona. He and Irene enjoyed going to Las Vegas and especially seeing Cirque du Soleil. He loved to go out to eat, especially Mexican food. He survived by his wife Irene of Sun City, son Todd Sonnenberg of Laurens, South Carolina, daughter Jennifer Justus of Byron, Minnesota, a step-daughter Christine Arniotis and 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and a sister Pat Decker of Rochester, Minn.. He was preceded in death by a son Tim Sonnenberg, and a sister Margie (Wayne) Iverson.
