Ronald Boyce SUN CITY, Arizona Obituary

Ronald Boyce

Ronald M. Boyce departed this life to join our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Aurora, CO November 11, 1937 to Mervin and Dorothy Boyce, he served his country honorably with the US Navy aboard the USS O'Brien. As a truly gentle and kindly friend to all, he had known no strangers. His strong sense of determination led him in lifelong, new directions where he met so many, many folks, whether at work with Safeway or RVing across the country. Ron had a gentlemanly charm that touched his caregivers at Family Comfort Hospice with his positive and cheerful outlook. Ron's enthusiasm for life, from bocce to RV life remained until the very end while we recounted many trips across the country, new sights, elk and moose mating, the birth of their calves in springtime, the traditions and culture of Canadian provinces, the West Coast as well as the East Coast from Maine to North Carolina, and most of all the heartwarming friendships. Ron is survived by his wife, Ginny, his son Ron Jr., and wife Gina (Flower Mound, TX) and their three daughters, and daughter Tracy Wentz Barney and husband John (Crested Butte, CO). His son Michael predeceased him, passsing in June 2015. We offer sincere thanks to those who have shared our journey, for your support and encouragement when the travels were difficult. And especially we offer thanks for the role of Family Comfort Hospice and Our Lady of Lourdes in directing his faith and comfort. He requested we have no funeral or memorial service, rather he hoped to be fondly remembered by all who loved him, those whose lives he had touched, to do random acts of kindness each day, to keep a brave and cheerful outlook as the sun rises each morning. His ashes will be scattered in the Rocky Mountains in springtime when his Colorado family will be able to participate. Contributions in his memory may be directed to Family Comfort Hospice Foundation, 7975 N Hayden Road, Ste A200, Scottsdale, AZ 85258 (480-745-3015). Messages to the family may be directed to regencymortuary.com.
